On just one old map I have seen the mountain between Canaan and Sentinel called Dan Hole Mt - on most maps one sees, it is unnamed. Its southern slope runs down to Dan Hole Pond, so that might be a very fitting name to use for that mountain. Dan Hole was supposed to have been a long-ago Indian resident of the pond's environs.

I do have one question... If you hike to Faraway Mt and are standing on it, is it still Faraway Mt? :-)

Dunno. If you hike to Mt. Flagg, will you be "flagged"?
