The original Winnipisogee House as can be seen here http://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopo...500&page=3 was built in 1852 the year after the RR came to town. It burnt down in 1905 and at some point the Alton Bay Inn (seen here) was built. It was also known as the Del-Ray Motel (?) (with pool) and is now the J.P. China Restuarant.
