How to lube the lug nuts on a boat trailer so it will be easier to remove nut when needed, later on sometime.

A plastic beverage bottle with a screw-on cap fits good onto the lug nut. So, press it on and slice the plastic bottle in half which remakes the bottle into a gripe-on funnel.

Spay onto lug nut with a spray lubricant to get on and around the nut and bolt and attached plastic 1/2 bottle keeps the spray on the lug nut and off the wheel rim.

This has got to be the greatest re-use invention of the empty soda plastic bottle ever made in soda bottle world history!

A couple of years ago while heading to the ramp for a day of boating I had a small tire issue. The lug nuts were so rusted in place that I snapped 3 studs trying to remove the wheel. I ended up getting it off, buying a new tire, and after installing it I drove home with only two studs with nuts in place holding the wheel on. Kind of ruined my day of boating!

I have different trailers now, but since that day I have taken the nuts off every year and put some grease on the studs.

Have done that for many years on snowmobile trailers and never had an issue.
