The meaning of ToW
Rattlesnake Gal asked me, What does ToW stand for? So in an effort to answer:
ToW: Acronym for Tired of Waiting; Derived from the rules and philosophy of life. Tow begins at conception. From that time forth one is in the mode of waiting. So we can most likely blame our parents for ToW. It all starts with the nine month wait to move into the light of the world. From there we wait for the attention, food, bottom cleaning and so on. The parents are in the mode of waiting for the child to indicate their needs which is at the most inopportune times. Which the parents can blame on the child. From infancy to the time we pass into the other life waiting takes at least 75% of our time. For some much more. For example on any given day it could go like this: Rise from bed, no waiting here, well for some of us that is. To the kitchen, start the coffee, we are now in 1xToW. While the coffee is brewing we start the eggs, we are now in 2xTow, Ok at this point you might say you’re not waiting for the coffee because you are starting the eggs. I ask, would you be starting the eggs if the coffee was done instantly? No, you’d cream and sugar the coffee and THEN start the eggs. Now on with the story; we put bread in toaster and push the button down, we are now 3xToW. So as can be seen we can be in multiple ToWs. The eggs finish, we plate the eggs, the coffee finishes, we start to cream and sugar the coffee and the toast pops up so we leave the eggs and coffee to tend to the toast. Now the coffee and eggs are in Tow while you tend to the toast. Here you can see that not just humans can have ToW. At last the meal is complete. However, you might now have to wait for the other person/s to join you for the meal, again another ToW. Now all this is being done very early in the morning while you are waiting for the sun to rise to produce that beautiful sunrise on the lake another Tow. Oh and while all this is going on in the morning you are still in ToW for that return phone call from yesterday. You may continue this story on your own. If not you can ToW for me to do it in the future. Just think, what would life be like if there was no ToW? Instant everything!! There is something to be said for instant gratification. ToW |

OK I'll bite.Mine is the name of my boat which happens to be a PWC.As you probably know,Pwc's are propelled by a jet pump which"sucks" water in and spits it out.Hence the "SUKR".I have been told the"SIK" part refers to the guy sitting on the boat! SS

A Rose by any other name....
I got my nickname while driving with a bunch of friends during my college days. I was swearing like a truck driver at the other drivers, and one of my friends said, "She's just like a rose...like a delicate flower" and it stuck.

Mine is easy: I play hockey for Colorado State and my number is 3 -- although I just retired due to back surgery. Perhaps I should change to 24yrOLDman

When I was a toddler, I couldn't pronounce Winnipesaukee, so I would just ask if we were "going up the saukee". It stuck throughout the years, and now I live up here full time, so I am "Upthesaukee", even more so when I am on my 19ft Sunbird "Upthesaukee".

What's in a name
I am Flboater but I still am a NH boater. I have 4 boats in NH and 1 in FL. The season is longer so I really do most of my boating in FL. By the way, Charlie did not get my boat since it passed about 20 miles north of my boat. Much of my boating area was hit. I think my November trip may be cancelled. Feel bad for all the boaters north of me as I recognized some of the pictured areas shown on the news.
My avatar looks like Katie and Kennie my feline family. Last edited by KBoater; 08-14-2004 at 03:51 PM. |
