New Happenings in Moultonboro
Saw a FOR SALE sign up at what was The Black Snout restaurant on my home last night. Hate to see things like this happen. Also, there is enormous activity at what was the Moultonboro Emporium. The building has been basically gutted, and clearly something/someone is moving into it. Don't know if it will still be a Mobil (or any type of) gas station ... does anyone have the lowdown on the activity here ?

I hear the old emporuim is going to be re-opened soon as a grocery store and gas station sometime soon. Looks like they are doing a major make over to the place.

Are they ready for seasonal volume ?
The former store had certainly grown to a real dump. I hope the new owners are financial stable and have enough knowledge and capital to deal with the seasonal sales volume without gouging the customers with high prices for fuel and groceries. We already have two major convenience stores within a mile battling for the same customers and struggling for winter sales volume. Even Heath's gouges people with their prices at a larger scale grocery store. Gas prices may be high, but no one can afford to do major shopping especially in the winter when you are not fighting traffic. I am sure the new grocery store in Meredith will give Heath's a run for their money!
