The hike up the traditional trail on Mt Major can be quite challenging in a few places, but the magnificent views at the summit, with all of Winnipesaukee laid out before you, enhanced with a backdrop of exquisite mountain scenery, provide a reward that more than justifies the effort. Note the hiker standing on the ledge a little left of the ruins of the hut at the peak, enjoying that view. Photo taken from E. Quarry Mt, a short distance to the west of Mt Major.
