The mountain in the background is the unnamed mountain at the northernmost end of the Squam Range. The small hill before it is called Peaked Hill. The shoreline and surrounding woods look only lightly touched by human activity, as though this might be a scene from 100 years ago. Perhaps the building at the right was an active farm at that time.
