The Squam Range's Mt Percival is a popular hiking destination in the Lakes Region. The view south of Squam and Winnipesaukee is what most folks go to see, but avid hikers are also interested in the northerly view, part of which is seen here, for this section of the White Mts can't be seen easily, except from peaks like Percival. Some of these peaks are well-known to hikers as they are on the 4000-Footer List, which is important to many hikers - Carrigain, Osceola, and Hancock are examples. Kancamagus has a famous scenic highway going across its northern slopes, and Jennings Peak and Sachem Peak are climbed by many (from the Waterville Valley area) because their open, ledgy peaks provide grand views.
