This photo is a picture taken at Short Beach next to the Big Pier at Lake Shore Park. I would date it as the late 1940's considering the Mount is in operation, and also by the condition of the original pier pilings sticking out of the water. Also the new concrete wall between the big pier walkway and Short Beach was not built when this photo was taken. I sat on those rocks in the foreground many a time when I was a boy.



Ellacoya Beach used to be called Minnehaha Beach and Cottages prior to the state purchasing the property back in the late 1950's.Ellacoya State Beach is located west of Lake Shore Park and Carr's Point.
