Mt Major has nearly a dozen trails on its slopes, but only 3 are well marked & maintained. The Boulder Loop Trail, developed about 4 yrs ago, is the newest of the 3. It is the only trail that approaches the mountain from the southeast. It goes thru a large, glacially-created boulder field, hence the name. This view east is seen about 300 yards before you reach the summit, where one's attention quickly is drawn to the north.
