dcr Deceased Member Registered: February 2004 Posts: 1,317	A man-made pond created by Tom Plant circa 1913. He stocked it with huge trout, which are still found there. No fishing tho - they're practically pets, hand fed by tourists visiting the castle. The mountains in the left half of the picture are Mt Roberts & Faraway Mt. Follow the line of the road across the dam and the mountain in the far background is Mt Shaw. A little to the left of that and slightly obscured by big pines is Oak Ridge.

For a quarter, a provided gum-ball machine will dispense a handful of "trout-food". It's a "treat" also for the visitor to watch these huge examples of trout share in a feeding frenzy.

Which is not to leave out the ducks there.

This frenzy involves a "battle" between fish and ducks—which often is settled in favor of the fish—leaving ducks with a decided "sheepish" appearance!
