Interesting. I wasn't aware of J G W's connectioon to the lake. When the barn at the John Greenleaf Whittier's Birthplace in Haverhill, MA burned, they moved my uncle Willis's barn from Skunk Hill (now renamed Willow Avenue) to the site, where it still stands.
