A view of Mt Agamenticus from Moose Mt. Agamenticus is only 5 miles from the Atlantic coastline in the town of York, in SE Maine. It is probably the largest piece of "preserved wild land" in the area, as the coastline is highly developed in the Portmouth/York area. Even tho it is only a little over 600 ft high, composed of 3 connected hills really, it is the most highly visible feature of the coastal area. It can be seen from high points in the Lakes Region, like Mt Major or Mt Belknap. This web site offers some interesting facts: http://www.agamenticus.org/
