Are you covering your speed by the gas gage or the speedometer???

Hi RLW,

This boat was an 1984 19' Galaxy bowrider with an 140 IO MerCruiser. I ran a power prop on it as we used it for cruising, skiing and tubing. In the best of lake water conditions and optimal trim, she'd do a little over 40 MPH.

My brother did once try out a speed prop, and got it up to 50 MPH.
All of the above was using readings from the stock speedometer and transom mounted pickup tube. Never checked it with GPS.
