Something that I have noticed over the years here is that sometimes, the Lake's islands save their most brilliant colors until after those on the mainland have passed. It is quite striking to witness. Like multi colored jewels rising from the waters.
This could have to do with warmer water temps. that surround the Islands, and also a time of very gentle winds.
Oh well, keep an eye out!
