As simple as this boat is, a little "trim" on the sail would help this youngster avoid a capsize. The boom has just glanced off the water. Should the boom get a serious "dig" into the water, the sail would pry the hull (and skipper) over.



The bronze fitting at the mast should be readjusted to raise the boom (to a few inches above "level"). The upper spar needs about three inches more "raise" by means of the halyard.
