Get a load of the "helm" steering wheel! Have not seen one of them on a boat for many years. I did see it in the Navy on a ship though. If for some reason you were not careful the helm "handles" could do some damage to your hands if the helm was to spin free when in a sharp turn.
The passengers look like those I knew in the 60's from Peggy's Cove in Alton Bay and the other side of Echo Point. Even the view in the picture looks like the point just south of the cove. Am I right on the location? Wonder if John A. Birdsall recognizes anyone?
Just confirmed from J. A. B.: It is the Puddy Tat with the 2 Birdsall brother's (their boat) and I believe 3 of the Collins Brothers. Both families are still at the lake today. I had some nice times on the boat w/John.

Okay Just Sold, you've got must of it correct! Only two Collins', I think the other is Jim Donegan, I check this weekend with Ed. But it is the Puddy Tat, looking for trouble is an under statement, ask the local Alton Judge (Horne??). Bobby B, Larry C, Ed C, Jim D and John B. You know where, circa 1960. These were in my Mother's albums, digitalized after she left. FYI, 58 years in Alton Bay.

Thanks for sharing this great picture with us.
I bet there are more hidden in albums around the country that we'd all be interested in.

The mystery fifth passenger (second from the left) has been identified as John Lewis. John’s grandmother owned a small cottage which was between Ty-ho and NaRu. Following her passing in 1961 or 62, the cottage was moved and relocated off of South Rt 28, near where the Prospect Mountain High School is currently located. As the original building was built in and around existing pine trees, the building was moved in 3 or 4 pieces. It served as a home for many years following the relocation but is no more.
