Hikers who wish to venture from Mt Major to more westerly parts of the Belknap Range are apt to take the Quarry Trail west from Striaghtback Mt as it provides more and better views along the way than alternative trails can. One view from the Quarry Trail is this view from E Quarry Mt to Mt Major, and beyond Major to some well-known mountains to the east of Winnipesaukee. The labeled mountains in the left background are mostly in New Durham, with some of the others located in Middleton or Brookfield (and the one in the deep background which is probably in Maine).
