While on the open ledges of Piper Mt yesterday, I was looking to the SE and noticed an unusual object rising into view from below the ridgeline of Mack Ridge. At first I thought it was a hang glider, which I've seen a few times over the Belknaps, but eventually it became more recognizable as a small blimp. The word Hood was soon obvious on the side. Apparently this blimp ( I don't know if there is more than 1 Hood blimp) is a common sight in the Boston skies (advertising jobs ?), and is often seen over and around Fenway Park. Following is a web site that tells more about it - http://www.greaterboston.tv/features...109_blimp.html

Pretty shot of the Hood blimp, wonder what it was advertising above. At least it didn't land in the trees like it did in MA last year. We have photos of it going over our house a few years ago. I also took a photo of our cat when it did, it freaked him out and it was such a cute photo, he thought it was coming to eat him I think.
