A look over Meredith Bay to the Belknaps in the background. Anecdotal records have suggested that Chief Chocorua was more generally seen as living in the Chocorua Lake region of Tamworth than in the Winnipesaukee Lake area, but this statue in the small 'island' park near the Meredith shoreline was apparently given his name notwithstanding - perhaps to piggyback on his fame.
