Shannon Brook at the Castle property has cut a deep, narrow gorge, about 100 yds long, between the 30 ft Bridal Veil Falls and the 50 ft Falls of Song - this shot looks back at the bottom of Bridal Veil Falls from a spot close to the top of Falls of Song. The easterly bank of the gorge (right side here) rises about 100 ft above the brook, very steeply. The opposite bank is even steeper, but doesn't rise nearly as high (about 20-25 ft). Brook Walk is the name of a once famous old trail that provides access to view points for these 2 falls plus 5 other smaller ones - it was closed for many decades after great floods destroyed parts of the trail, but the LRCT made repairs last year and reopened the trail last fall.
