Photo taken Wednesday this week from Caverly Mt in New Durham - a shot across Merrymeeting Lake toward Prospect Mt (just left of center on the horizon) shows the smoke from the recent tire dump fire in Alton that burned near the Prospect Mt High School on Rt 28. Mt Eleanor, on the SW shoreline of Merrymeeting (just in front of and below Prospect Mt) has smoke rising up above its peak, as does Rattlesnake Mt just to its right. A little to the right of center, the smoke partially blocks the view of Catamount Mt in Pittsfield, in the far background at right center.
