Default Forming a Lakes Region Writer's Group

Is anyone interested in forming a writers' group? I'd love to find others who write and are interested in getting together for peer review, sharing of ideas/experience in marketing work or taking the next step - wherever one is in the process. If you think you might be interested please get in touch and we can work out the details from there.

Default good luck with your writing group

I wish I lived closer, I would join your group. I have been to several writing groups lately and they are motivational. In a lot of these groups a "leader" gives prompts....a sentence that initiates a respsonse. Then everybody writes like crazy for a timed period, and then you go around the room and read what you have written. Everyone else just listens while the reader reads, no comments. If you get the book "Old Friend From Far Away", by Natalie Goldberg, it would give you writing material for months. I went to one of Natalie's workshops and it was very encouraging and inspiring. She thinks writing groups are very important. Good luck !!! Jane

I've been in several writing groups but it's been years since I've thought about joining one again. Some were like what you described, Lady Jane, and others you just brought material you'd worked on and critiqued each other's work. I wrote mostly poetry and short stories, and have been published a couple of times - but that was 20 years ago now... Life got busy and my hobbies took a backseat to the house, hubby, kids, etc.

I'm interested but logistics (time/date/location) might be an issue. I'm open to what's out there and what may come up. Give me a date and time and basic mission of the group - I'll let you know if i can make it. Sound fair?
