Brr. The gusting wind has blown most of the snow off the lake. Even walking around with mini-crampons on is challenging. Hard to do much fishing unless you're inside a bob house. Set my cusk lines that stand out in sharp relief compared tot he polished ice.
Good 10-12 inches of black ice now with more to come given the bitter cold on the way. Saw a few ATVs pulling bob houses early PM over by Bear Island. Beautiful day with clear views of Mt. Washington. Note the swirling snow off the Southeast corner of Bear Island to the left. |

Stay away from docks that have "Thin Ice" signs or bubblers going.
4-Wheeler just went through the ice in Wolfeboro Bay off of the end of Lake Street. ![]() |
