I was just reading the General Discussion thread and found one that was just started today about Duck Itch. I was suprised because my daughter just got home from the lake complaining about it. I can see the "marks...bites" on her. She spent yesterday in the lake playing with 3 dogs.
So my question....does anyone know if dogs can get this itch too? |

Yes. Since this is caused by a mite not a disease. Many humans diseases can't be passed to dogs but for duck itch it is like asking if a dog can be bitten by a mosquito and of course the answer is yes. However, different dogs have different levels of sensitivity to such bites. For some there may be no real problems and for others a rash or hot spot could develop.
