Default Verizon Wireless data

Anyone have experience using Verizon's wireless data services on the lake? My Verizon Blackberry needs EVDO coverage.

Sure, I use my USB720 pretty much every weekend in Laconia. You can use the Blackberry tethered access as well. You won't get the EVDO datarates, but it works very good overall.

I have a Black Berry 8830 and the data services work fine in the Moultonborough/Meredith area.

On Cow Island I use my Treo 700p tethered with Verizon. I was able to use it to watch the Celtics last weekend using Slingbox on my Macbook Pro. It's gotta be pretty fast to do that.

Default varies, but good

Running VZ USB727 wirelss broadband on northern Cow I and getting 400 to 1,000 kbps. Seems to vary at different times of the day. Used Speakeasy speed check to verify periodically. Overall pretty good for out here.

Default Verizon Wireless card.

Mine works great on the Gilford side of the lake in Lake Shore Park..

Default Verizon V620

My Verizon V620 wireless card works good in Meredith. I use it for
RDP to my desktop at work. A little slow, but it does the job. Better than dial-up.

We have Verizon cell phones and an air card. We are in Wolfeboro. Last year we had spotty coverage and usually had to go out on the dock to make a call. This spring we have very strong EVDO service - even in the house. Something appears to have changed over the winter.

Default Cell Phone Service~ ATT

I am planning on getting a new cell phone. ATT is the service provider required by iphone. Does anyone have ATT? How is the coverage around the lake?
Thanks for your help.

Default At & T

Depending on where on the lake you are it may be fine. We have an AT & T and a Verizon. The AT & T service isn't great for us - no reception in parts of Wolfeboro, Tuftonboro and Alton, but the service in the middle of the lake is great!

My Kindle uses EVDO through Sprint. On the end of Long Island it is spotty.

Even though the AT&T coverage map shows that we should be in good shape on Mark, actual coverage is terrible. I find that at the marina I have nothing, in certain spots going across I am ok, and at the island coverage is scarce.

We use Hughesnet for satellite internet so when on the island I use the WIFI in my phone to grab my emails though our router.

Default THANKS for your comments

I really wanted an iphone, however, I am in Tuftonboro and if service is non-existant guess I will be looking for something else!
