Default Ice Report

As of today (4/15) Paugus Bay is 70% open, should be totally open on Saturday, Alton Bay open up to Sandy Point with the exception of some ice floes about.
The Broads are mostly locked in with a few open areas, the area north of Rattlesnake Is. should open up probably by Monday. The southern section of the Broads seem to have a firmer ice, this will delay ice out a few more days.
Seen some ice near shore, it's about 4 " thick.
The ice visible at the Wiers Cam and from the Silver Sands postings should all be gone by Saturday or Sunday.
Total ice out within next week unless Mother nature plays a dirty trick on us, warm weather here early next week. Water temp. now in the 40's, were melting on both sides now
Many of the marinas already have a fair amounts of boats in the water.
Opening the camp next week on Rattlesnake (hopefully), let the games begin!

Default First Boat Sighted

About 7pm tonight a boat was moving right along coming from the area of the north end of Paugus Bay. Watched it go by South Down Shores' docks. It wasn't much further that the operator noticed he was coming up to an ice flow that covered the width of Paugus Bay reaching over towards Burger King.
He quickly made a U-turn and headed bak towards the Weirs.
