Default Lost Hiker Mount Major

Anyone see or hear about this and if the hiker was found? Is this even a reputable account—I've not seen anything else reported.

Also, lots of accidents and rescues on the trails this summer...

Maybe this is a "scam". I say that because at the end of the notice there is a request "Send a Gift". What's that all about. If this is a "scam", it is a sick sense of humor doing it.

I just went on the Facebook page for Lakes Region NH Emergency Alerts.
It looks legit. Posts all emergency calls in the area.

There is an update on this:
"4 hikers are lost
They are warmly dressed and Alton Command has just made contact with them."

Sounds like they are safe.

That was a different situation, or at least it was a day later with no indication of connection between my original post.

It doesn't look like that page does anything but post alerts with no updates.
