Motorola Walkie Talkie Issue?

I have a set of Motorola Walkie Talkies'. I believe the Model is T600 Talk About"

I can talk OK on 'Low-Side' setting but not on 'High-Side' when button on phone is Pressed.... 'Low Side' I believe is used for short distances, and 'High-Side' button for long distances..

Thoughts on what's happening here and how to resolve ?

Sounds like you might need new batteries…High requires more power to function.
