Is The Meredith Fishing Derby Still On??
I read something that said it may be cancelled on the "Ice-in" thread but couldn't find anything concrete.
Does anyone know if its cancelled? Or delayed? I have reservations at Church Landing and need to know if I should cancel them. Thanks.

Ice conditions
My friends and i were out saturday and sunday. we were "the first bobhouse on meredith". the ice conditions in the bay are fairly promising. it ranged from 3''-7''. 3'' around the edges and 7'' as you get closer to middle. supposedly officials are having a meeting wednesday to decide the fate of the derby. we should know by the end of the week. there are still some places that are not safe. that's what the officials will be debating over tomorrow im sure. my clan and i are hopefull though!!

Here's some info from the Citizen -
Tuesday, January 31, 2006 Fishing derby officials remain hopeful about prospects for chill http://www.citizen.com/apps/pbcs.dll...069/-1/CITIZEN This weeks lows are supposed to be in the mid to high 20s with highs in the high 30s to low 40s. So, doesn't look like a lot of help from mother nature |

Derby Updates
Any locals who follow the board please post official Derby updates. Can't trust the Rotary Club site to update. Some of us travel up for the derby and have reservations that can be altered if enough notice is given. Pray for COLD and bring on the ICE Always forward never straight, put a sausage on the grill it's February!
