I have some friends coming up this coming weekend, does anyone know of any fairs or other events going on around the lakes

Fryeburg Fair, Sept 30 - Oct 7. Rt302 out of Conway NH.
One of the biggest Fairs around.

Saturday, September 29: Noon-4;for $7.50-adults, $5.00-kids; the Waterville Valley Chili Challenge gourmet chili food fest eating challenge is happening in the Waterville Valley Town Square overlooking Corcoran's Pond, Town Beach, and indoor ice skating arena.

How much chili can you eat, provided by numerous different local restaurants, all competing to win first prize Chili Challenge, in the Town Square for $7.50?

Live music for free by the Uncle Steve Band …… live in Town Square …. Noon-3

Craft beer sampling ……. arrrgggg …… arrrgggg ….. arrrgggg ….. live in Town Square …. Noon-3

Bring a swim suit for the pond and beach ...... for a chilly but still doable swim challenge .... swim out to the raft ...... rent a kayak or stand-up paddle sup for about 12-dollars and paddle around the photoscenic 7-acre Corcoran's Pond.

Also happening: a vintage 50-year, 1967-2018 Camaro muscle car show, and a 5-kilometer road race for road race runners, newbies and antiques, Nike and Addidas!

Bring a bicycle and your golf clubs: WV is a good place for both mountains bikes and smooth tire road bikes, and the very attractive 9-hole golf course is totally fantastic for golfers in a golfing mountain eutopia. Play your tennis game on a red clay, mountain view, tennis court (17-courts) just like Rafael Nadal and Andrea Petkovic!
