Was To Was 2 Was Two I named mine "Faster Daddy" because that's what my little boy was always yelling at me. One of my favorites is "Instead of Disney" |

Need more info to help you
For just any idea, I'll give it a shot. "Dad's Pride and Toy" or just "Pride and Toy"
But for a more personal name, maybe some details? 1) Manufacturer/model of boat so we know sail/power/GFB? 2) Family? ("My Other Love") 3) prefer real names or puns? or simply play-on-words? 4)initials from family names sometimes make a fun name for a boat, too or even mis-leading names? "The lawn mower" or for a GFB, "The Mower" or "The Mover" |

How about "La Vida Broca" ? If you weren't broke before you got the boat, you soon will be. Ahhhhh, the joys of boat ownership.

Google it
If you search on google for boat names you will be innundated. Island Guy chose Scene Isle ... though it is not on the boat yet. My daughter is having it made for me.

Those are great
Those are great! Thanks!!
Well, the last one was "Wasn't Me!" as I said. There was a definite reason for the name..... kind of a funny incident when the boat was only 6-7 weeks old! That, however, was when I was single. As I told everyone quite a while ago we are getting married in Meredith in September. We bought a house so didn't need a cruiser anymore. I thought it was funny to name it "It Shrank", when everyone was asking what happen to my other boat..... I said it was too hot out.... "it shrank". However, when I thought of my poor fiance's friends and the grief he might get, I re thought that one. Then came up with "Wasn't Us!". Not sure if he is keen on that. I really like a play on words or something sarcastic and witty. First boat was "Not So Much". I am an ex-professional figure skater, Mortgage Banker, two kids (boy 11, girl 13).... hmmmmm what else.... a bit hyper active and very social. (quick witted... ) New boat is a Sea Ray..... Fiance owns a Tile distributorship in MA and NH (I liked "Tile Guy" ... he didn't) That is about it..... really not that remarkable of a family really! HOW is that for info?

Name the Boat
Wendy:
Just a thought but I like to see boats named after the boat, not the owner. Names that show your, can I say, love for the boat seem to bring you joy every time you think about the her. Names like Shadow, Sunset, Serendipity and yes, Misty Blue (I'm named after the boat - not the other way around) to me show respect for the boat. Names like Bad Attitude, Corprate Merger and New Promotion, etc. give me the feeling that the owners are not nameing the boat but selling themselves. There have been some great ideas on this post. I guess that I wanted to give you some food for thought. Just my two cents. Misty Blue. |

I'm drawing a blank
Hmmm, not having any really good ideas so I throw these ones out hoping they'll spark some better ones.
If it was only for you, it could be "It Figures" or "Wendi Figures" (ex-skater, banker motif) or "WinniWendisWish" but given you've gone from cruiser to deckboat while gaining a new family it should be more like "All Hands on Deck". I think I'll need some "lubricant" to ponder this some more. Hmmm, what's hubby's first name ? Do you have a dog ? Could it be "See Ray Run" ? Aaargh, definitely time for the Tamnavulin !

My boat is 'Crazy Horse' after my fondness for Neil Young's music/band.
You bought the boat before you are a family of four... however you knew that you would soon be (a family of) four so how about ' BE FOUR '? I married a woman with two kids too. Best thing that I ever did...congrats. Being a musician all of my boats have been named after something musical. If I were marrying someone named Wendy that would be the name on my boat. 'Wendy' is a (terrific) Beach Boys classic and when I think of the Beach Boys I think of good times in warm weather...so that works. Hey Woodsy what'd you buy? Going to Green's Basin? |

Hey Wendy... Art is on to something... how about calling the boat "Four Play"? I think that would be an awesome name! The boat is for (4) people and it is "FOR PLAY"...
Hola ART! I just got a Donzi 26Zx.... almost a twin to LisaZ's boat, only 70hrs on her. Not the fastest boat, but really nice! Didn't want to go the top end route in case we get a speed limit. Picked it up in Virginia last weekend... Let me know when you will be around and I will swing by... I will definitely be going to the Basin! You? Give my best to the family! Woodsy PS: For those who may be concerned, it is below the current noise limit and is muffled. Last edited by Woodsy; 08-24-2005 at 11:31 AM. |

I did the family name thing too: "Three Buoys" for our three sons. But after buying and naming the boat, we adopted a girl, so the boys are clamoring for a name change to "Three Buoys and a Gull". So far, I'm sticking with the superstition that it is bad luck to change the name of a boat! That'll work until the girl is old enough to figure out she's not part of the name, I'm sure.
