• The first shots were fired by Americans.

Pearl Harbor's Ford Island Navy fleet wasn't the only target on Oahu.

• That one downed Japanese pilot was harbored by Hawaiian citizens led to FDR's ordering Internments!

(Internments opposed by the FBI's Director, J. Edgar Hoover).

• At the time, my Tuftonboro Dad was training the Navy's PBY patrol-bomber pilots in Jacksonville, FL. His eventual PBY squadron (VP-11) was destroyed or sunk at moorings.

• His rank on December 7th? "Cadet".

If you ever get a chance to visit the Arizona Memorial in pearl harbor, it is a very sobering experience.
