One last newbie question!

We leave tomorrow for vacation! Thanks again for the generous responses to my last post. Our house is on Tuftonboro neck. Where is the closest and best boat ramp launch? Our boat is just 18 feet. And here's the whimpy part....Hubby will be taking the boat to our rental house. I have never driven the car with trailer attached. yikes. lol Is it possible to park our boat trailer there and then my husband can come right back for it? Sorry to be so silly but I am not experienced at towing anything. Thanks!

When you exit the neck road, turn right and there is a ramp on winter harbor not far down the road at the Libby Museum on the Wolfeboro/Tuftonboro town line. It is right on rt. 109 so sometimes the traffic can be a little tricky since the ramp is very close to the road. You second choice is Pier 19. If you come out of the neck road and turn left you will find it about 2-3 miles down the road. You can't miss it. That is also your closest convenience store. At this ramp, road traffic isn't an issue. Both ramps are Town ramps and are free. Both are in good shape. Good luck, and have a wonderful vacation.

While the Libby ramp is probably your best bet, I'll add an option in that you could launch in Wolfeboro at the town ramp and park the boat at the town docks while hubby drives the car and trailer back to the house. He returns w/o the trailer and then drives the boat back, you take the car. You can check out Wolfeboro while waiting. Given it's going to be very busy this weekend I would recommend you do this Friday if possible. Though not long, this may be more of a boat trip than you care to bite off on day #1. If you can drop and leave the trailer (APS mentioned there's some room for trailers) @ the Libby ramp and then return for it later then this might be the ticket

.... is very easy, especially for the length boat to which you refer. Just make sure your turns are a little wider than normal, don't try to back up, and go a little slower than you normally would. While driving, check your rear view mirrors to make sure it is still there (it will be) and don't try to run lights or cut people off or make a turn with a lot of oncoming cars that might not see the trailer.

Be mindful that a NW wind will cause waves on the Lake, especially on the Broads, which is in the general area of your homeport.

NW winds are predicted for Saturday.
