Default Just Curious

I was looking at a satellite map of the lake and on the southern tip of Bear Island, almost due west of Jolly there appears to be two semi-square pools of water. Reservoirs, swimming pools, water treatment, fish ponds? Anyone know? Just curious.

You could call it water treatment. That's the septic for Camp Lawrence, the YMCA camp that owns the whole southern tip of Bear.

Thanks Bear Guy. Does it cause an issue when the wind is blowing from the south for any shoreline camps?

It's not a problem for us. Though we're pretty close to the camp, we seem far enough away (and to the north, against prevailing winds) that there's no strong smell that blows through our camp. I have, however, caught a good whiff of this when paddling down their shoreline on a calm day, especially in August.

FWIW, there is a similar pond in the girl's YMCA camp, 1.5 miles N on the island. It looks dry at the time the google image was taken.
