You have options in Wolfeboro, Alton, Meredith, Weirs Beach and Center Harbor. All have places within walking distance of the town docks. Being centrally located, makes it a choice of what direction you want to go in.

From Ames you could walk to Ellacoya Barn & grill. One of our favorite spots to eat.

About a 2+ mile drive to the Lyon's Den, another favorite.

Maybe 2+ miles past that is Wally Mart, Hannaford, Shaws and Lowes.

I second that. Lyons Den is a favorite by car or baot, but there are several others noted on the forum under "Restaurants"

You don't want to be walking along Rte. 11 with 2 children in tow, particularly if it's dark.

Talking Happy Vaca!

Happy vacation!!! How old are the children in your party? That might determine what you will be up to. What length and kind of boat?
