Just installed new bathroom sink. Set sink with latex silicon caulking.
Unfortunately, made quite a mess with caulk and need to remove around sink and countertop. Tried to clean up as much as I could with wet cloth but that stuff just smears around. Suggestions to remove caulk which is now cured? |

I own a tube of silicone caulk remover, but have yet to use it.
![]() This site says that use of the above caulk remover will leave a tainted surface that is difficult to reseal. A hair dryer or heat gun—plus a razor blade—is suggested on surfaces that won't melt or burn. . |

A sharp razor blade to "shave" it off is your best option. Hopefully your sink is not a material that scratches easily.

U know the auto parts stores like VIP carry a razor blade scraper for about 3-dollars that is much better than what u get at Lowe's or Walmart even though it uses the same single edge blades. It has a long handle similar to a screw driver, and a better design and stronger, steel holder for the blade.
Giving the old caulk some heat with a heat gun or a hair dryer should definitely help.
