seems that weeds and crab grass are making their way across our beach. We have tried pulling it up but it keeps coming back. Any thoughts on how to get rid of this stuff for good.

Have you tried this mixture to kill grass and weeds: 1/2 gal vinegar, 1/2 cup salt, 2 TBSP dawn or dish detergent of some kind, mix and spray! Works better than Roundup and is kinder / greener. Good luck!

Each winter snow, ice and spring rains pack the sand down on my beach with some weeds and grass getting imbedded.... so some time in late spring or early summer I actually rototill my beach.
Sounds crazy but it works beautifully. Almost doubles the volume of the sand and turns it fluffy and soft. Afterwards I just gather up the loose weeds and clumps of grass that have been turned up. Wonder why I get funny looks from passing boats ![]() |
