Saw Dave Mason at the Flying Monkey last night. Another great show at a great venue!!
I really enjoy going to the Monkey to see shows. It has good food and the acoustics are excellent! They really strive to bring quality acts in at a fair price and have been very successful at it! All in all another wonderful night at the Monkey! Dan

Funny(ish) story...
20 years ago when I was hanging around the Detroit music scene, I was working with a guy also named Dave Mason who was kind of a local studio musician and would play in a few bands. This Dave Mason also wrote and recorded some of his own music, which he would sometimes play. One weekend he was doing a show at The Magic Bag in Ferndale, MI. It was mostly going to be a "friends and family" kind of gig, but they put his name up on the board outside to draw a few more people in. Anyway, after he plays a few songs (his was more of an alt-rock sound) you could see some very confused faces in the audience. He then explained he wasn't THAT Dave Mason, and about 8 or 10 people who didn't seem to fit in with the general makeup of the audience politely got up and left looking slightly relieved. Would have been cool to see the other Dave Mason at the Monkey though, I'm sure it was a great show.
