Default Giant Snowman in Gilford

So who built the giant snowman on Route 11 in Gilford? It's pretty darn cool!

Do you mean on 11A? There has been one there each recent year when snow conditions allowed. There is a lot of snow in this year's giant.

This is what it looked like a few years back. It was shaped like donut rings:

This is from the Gallery and was posted 2/25/14 by "hiharry5" so I believe it is from this year.

It's on Route 11A about a mile and half from the bypass. It's on the right side of the road if you're heading towards Gunstock.

Yep, they do it every year at least for the past 2 any way. The ones I have seen weren't as big as the one they did this year. It must have taken some time to build. Thanks for posting the picture. I have gone by it a dozen of times and never thought to take a picture. Maybe the reason I didn't is, I do not carry my camera in the truck.

Default Giant Snow Man

That snow man has returned for at least the past five years or more, just past the Methodist Church. He has made his niche as one of the 7 wonders of the winter landscape in Gilford and is so artistically done. A lot of time and effort goes into building that Big Boy and bet he brings a smile to a lot of faces as they drive by. There should be a name the snow man contest.

Took a ride up to visit family yesterday in Brookfield and Ossipee. Usually take 95 to Spaulding to 16 but really wanted to see the 11a snowman! So took 93 to 11 to 25 to 16!
I think the snowmans name should be Hap, short for happy! Although I wasn't very happy about the frigid cold temperature or the snow squalls or the grey sky, that big boy on the side of 11a made me smile! Thought the Mount looked cold and lonely in it's winter setting...hurry ice out!!!

Default The Abominable Snowman

If things don't change soon, that bad boy may be around to celebrate the Fourth of July.

His hat had fallen off and the head has gotten quite smaller, but the rest still stands with a little less roundness to him. One will know there stands a big snowman for a while yet. This prospective was as of about 6 days ago.

Saw him yesterday and he is still hanging in there, good contender for worlds biggest loser.
