Does anyone know where I could get old (or inexpensive new) oars to use for a project? They won't be used for boating.

I have a set of wood oars that look like they came off a Norwegian wood, aircraft carrier from 1000-years ago ...... could be worth 500-hundred dollars ....will lend them to you for a one thousand dollar cash security deposit....in hope that u never return them..... or save yourself five hundred bucks and just buy them outright for five hundred ...... wow ....what a pair of two-tone, mahogany? and pine?......eight foot long? .....square barrelled oars .....they belong in a Paul Bunyon museum!

It might be cheaper to get some thin planks and a jig-saw. After the job is over you'll have a jig saw and a little kindling.
Good luck! |

in downtown Laconia has a number of oars throughout the place. Come take a look.

As of Monday, it looked like Parafunalia in Gilford has orange tags on all their different length sets of light yellow, all-wood oars; selling them off at less than half price; 30-40-dollars/set as opposed to the regular 60-80 dollars/pair oars. These are light weight, high quality, all wood oars, probably made from ash just like a baseball bat, up at the row factory, somewhere in "O Canada."
