Just felt what sure seems like an earthquake. Lasted about 10 seconds and slowly faded away. Anyone else/

I felt it too. It really shook the earth. It came rumbling in before you could actually feel it. Wow!

The earthquake center http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/ shows it as a 4.5 between lake winni and Sebago in Maine.

I ran to check the boiler thinking it had blown up.
The whole house was shaking here in Belmont.
Yup and it scared the crap out of both of us.

Should be some after shocks from this one.

Could be less, but there have been instances when they were worse that the main shock.

Just a few minutes after it happened, WMUR had a news flash on it. They will have more of an update shortly. Website doesn't say much. My sister in Bowdoin, ME felt her house shake pretty good too.

Sitting on the couch watching the tube. Big rumble and then the couch started shaking. Thought the furnace was blowing up! Lamp beside me was actually moving. Hubby's band was rehearsing in the cellar and they didn't feel a thing. They thought I was joking when I went down to see if they felt it too. Biggest one I've ever experienced in my lifetime in NH.

For me, living in San Fran, this was a very small quake but different. It lasted long and the noise was different. New England granite plates grinding.

The Loma Prieta in '89 in San Fran was so intense I watched a woman in a computer chair on wheels go all the way across a 20' room and slam into the wall and every right angle in the interior walls went from obtuse to acute then back to normal. Not a chance I would have been able to walk across that room.

Check your gas lines and foundation. There may be aftershocks.

when my son called from home rattled the house in Gilford.

felt here in Boston, stuff fell off the counter, started at one end of the house and worked its way through the house. crazy, time to buy some earthquake insurance while it is extremly cheap

Shook really good here on Big Barndoor... It was almost 2 independent events over the course of 5 seconds. I don't have a furnace, so I was pretty sure it was an earthquake, or the whole town of Wolfeboro had blown up.

felt it and heard it here in Nashua. First thought it was wind and then thought it was a truck or low flying plane. My wife was in the kitchen and I said I think we just had an earthquake and she thought I was crazy (well, thats up for discussion anyways). Within seconds, a neighbor called and said their house shook and it was already breaking news. That was my 2nd one. The first one I felt years ago in Chelmsford and the center I bieeive was in Meredith

We were at a Masonic meeting. We finished eating and went into the Lodge room at 7. Around 710, lots of noise and shaking, reminiscent of my years in Alaska...I did go down stairs to make sure that it wasn't the kitchen that had blown up...our kitchen crew was eating after serving us and were blaming it on several politicians trying to make their respective points.

No damage. back to the meeting, and NOBODY SLAM ANY DOORS!!!!

There are over 1300 earthquakes per day. Yesterday 203 of them were over a 2.5 magnitude alone....Ours was just one of them.

But I’m pretty sure I caused the earthquake.
