Question Duncan Press

Hi Folks,

Can anyone confirm that Duncan Press (the map people) is still in business? I placed in internet order with them last year; they took my money but I have received nothing. I tried phoning & emailing them; it appears to me that they have closed shop.

Short of Duncan Press, where can I purchase a laminated navigation chart of Winnipesaukee (in a flip chart style)?

Thanks for your input, Jim

Default Still there, call them. Buy Bizer

You can buy the Bizer chart(www.bizer.com) map on CD and print your own personalized maps. YOu can put them is plastic folders and flip them any way you like. I personally like to blow up sections of the lake so that I do not have to squint to read the fine print. Really cool!

You can buy the Bizer chart in many forms... check them out!

Duncan was in business a few weeks ago, they announced a new product and advertise on winnipesaukee.com.

Default Lake Chart

Check out Bizer. Go to the Home Page here and then to Links and then Boats.

I have the Duncan Press flip chart and it is OK but I find my laminated Bizer is easier to use. Flip charts can easily wear out (at the ring hole) or come off the ring.

Jim Bob,

I thought I recently saw an ad for Duncan Press on this forum, so I'm guessing they're still in business.

Default Order From Bizer!

Last year I tried contacting them with a telephone call. (left a message) Sent an e-mail too. I was trying to buy two copies of their lake map for framing.
Never heard back from them. Sorry to hear they bamboozled you. That’s just bad business.
Guess you should consider it a loss and buy the other version from the Winnipesaukee.com Store. Bizer will take good care of you!

Default Internet order

I ordered several maps from them at the end of the summer, and had them in my hands shortly thereafter. I prefer the Duncan maps as they are less cluttered than the Bizer. If you are not familiar with the lake, Bizer may be the way to go, but if you are, my vote is for Duncan.

(I am going to order the Bizer waypoint file though for my handheld GPS backup though.)

I bought a lake map from Duncan press at the Sandwich Fair last fall. Not sure if they are still around.

RG, I was always a bigger fan of the Duncan maps than Bizer for framing as well. They just seemed to look better when framed and on a wall.

Broadhopper, I see you just posted your 100th Post. Congrats!

Default Duncan Is Great For Framing

No contest, this rolled map is perfect for framing. We bought our copies at Parafunalia. Shows both volcanic rings nicely.

Default They are still around

About 3 weeks ago I clicked on their ad from this website and ordered a map. It came in yesterday, but last night I also received an e-mail from them apologizing for the delay. It was due to the misplacement of orders or something. Since they advertise on this site, maybe you could e-mail the webmaster and ask him to send them a note asking about orders not fulfilled?

I just heard today that Duncan Press is one of the vendors at the Granite State Boat Show in Manchester this weekend. The show is at the Armory and runs from Fri. through Sun. My source was a radio ad. on WZID. Hope this helps.

Thanks to JimBob and others in this thread. Duncan Press is indeed alive and well, though fairly dormant this time of year. Sally is in Phoenix keeping warm while preparing for next season. I'm in charge of shipping and other administrative chores while she's away.

First, to JimBob: Mistakes sometimes happen. If you will reply directly to me giving me the specifics of your order, I will research our records and make good any paid order you haven't received. If you'd prefer to to handle this by phone, call 603-323-8353. I'll get back to you within 24 hours.

Second, we didn't sign up for this year's Granite State Boat Show, so we are puzzled by the radio spots. Perhaps they are using the same ones they used last year, when Duncan Press did exhibit.

Finally, thanks to all for your opinions pro and con. We're looking forward to ice-out and another great season on the lakes.

Default Problem Solved!

Hi Duncan Press,
I received the map today ..... in plenty of time for the upcoming boating season! Thankyou. Once we made contact & were able to communicate, the problem was quickly resolved.
