Default sign o' the times...

Yesterday I was driving through Meredith and saw a couple of those geese "lawn ornaments" on Moulton farm and I thought: "Who the heck would put a couple of those out th...? Oh, they're moving."

I guess I've seen so many of the decoys, I've become jaded.

Anyone else ever get caught like that? (Ever try to feed a stone bunny? )

I sure did. I was leaving the Castle in the Clouds. Not sure if I was on 109 or a road near it but I'm sure a member will chime in and tell me. I looked across a field and spotted a giant moose in the distance. I pulled over and watched for maybe 3 minutes and realized he had not moved..and was not going to. As I got in my car I thought about how many people like myself were being chuckled at from the local houses who have no doubt been watching this activity for years. Yup, you got me!

That is the first thought that came to my mind and I bet it is the same moose. We had actually gone out one day in serch of the ever elusive moose. I had my camera in my lap becasue I had a feeling today would be the day. We came across some house and way in the back yard near a small pond, my dream came true. My wife yelled "no Way" as she could not beleive it was this easy. As soon as we both focused enough, we both realized that the 6 foot moose that we were about to take pictures of, was actually a 6 foot metal structure. Good one!

I like watching the faces of small children at the fairs -- when they see the colored eggs in the bunny displays! That really gets them going!

These types of moments happen way to often I suppose.... I an ex girlfriend of mine, who was not big on the outdoors, was with me at the lake for the first time. And as we headed towards the cabin, I saw a deer on someones lawn. I told her to look at the deer, she exclaimed, that is just some dumb lawn decoration... Then it moved and jumped in front of the car..... I thought she was going through the roof.... As she yelled "ITs Real!!!!"

Now note I said she didn't like the outdoors to much, and it a hard time realizing that wild life was often wild, and not a decoration... That is one of many reason, she is an ex-girlfriend.
