Default First 2012 overnight at camp

Last night, April 2nd, was our 1st night at camp on Welch this year. Our previous earliest was a day later in 2010. The sunset was very nice however it was a little too cold and windy to have the traditional bottle of wine out on the deck. So we settled for looking out the front window with the wood stove going behind us. Not all that bad really.

I was driving around the lake last night from Wolfeboro to Gilford and the sunset was beautiful. Purple mountains and purple clouds.

Here's to the Slickcraft's first night on the island. It must have been so peaceful this time of year.

Great pictures!

I'm insanely jealous of the view both you and Dan have!

Default Saturday Afternoon March 31

Here is the view from Rattlesnake towards Gunstock on last Saturday afternoon. It was my second Saturday on the island. Let the fun begin!

Skim ice between Rattlesnake and Sleeper at 6AM Sunday!

Great pic, my place is just out of sight to the right. I was out on Saturday and saw some boats on Bear in your general area. We are staying out for the first time this season on Thursday, can't wait!

Sigh - someday I hope to have a little piece of the island pie too, can't imagine any place I'd rather be.

Talking Winnipesaukee!

It's great that so many have made it back to the lake. Thanks for the pictures!

We have been out each weekend and I cannot wait to get back for another island visit.

Not a Quadrafire but I don't recall the exact brand name. It was previously manufactured by Vermont Castings. It is a smaller unit that would fit into the fireplace. It does a good job of heating the small camp but a larger firebox would better hold a fire overnight. It is infinitely more efficient than heating with just the fireplace.
