Default Grocery Prices

We will be staying at Weirs Beach in August and cook at the cottage on most nights. I was wondering if Hannaford's in Meredith or Shaw's, which I think is in Gilford (on the same road as the Christmas cottages), has better prices. Thanks.

I prefer Hannaford in Gilford at the Walmart Plaza. Either way Shaws or Hannaford in Gilford is where you want to shop. Meredith Hannaford prices are higher than both of those stores.

Smile stop on the way up

Hey Kelly G, I drive up from Templeton Ma, and usually hit the Market Basket in Rindge, NH, on my way. Good prices on all groceries, and beer. There is a State Liquor store in the plaza, too. Just in case................Rt 202 IS a little winding, but we come out in Concord, and zoom the rest of the way.

Default Better prices at Hannafords in Gilford.

Although I think the Shaws in Gilford has a better selection of specialty items, their prices are generally 15% to 20% higher than Hannafords in the Walmart Plaza.

There is a Market Basket just west of Exit 20 in Tilton. Stop and do the big stuff, then buy fill-ins at Hannaford in Gilford.

Default Markets

I have found decent prices at Bob's Shur-Fine in Ashland, and there's usually no lines to deal with. The Heath Supermarket in Center Harbor is a fun place to browse, kind of upscale. Also the Holderness General Store in Holderness village. Bob's carries old fashioned crullers, locally made, which you can't seem to find down here in RI. Yum!

Thanks everyone!

Nagigator, I take 202 to go to Weirs Beach. It is a much nicer ride than rte 2 to 495. I try to do my big grocery shopping at Market Basket in Rindge. Actually, I like to shop as much as I can in NH because it is much cheaper than in MA.
