All this thread seems to be lacking is a 25 billion dollar bailout.

Just my 2 cents worth....

Lets not lose FOCUS. I wonder what is the status of the investigation since the DISCOVERY of the Submerged Utility Vehicle was made. Is this a TEMPEST in a tea pot?

If they get the bailout $$$, will GM spend some of it on bailing-out the Jimmy? By now, this Jimmy may be the most famous submerged vehicle since that 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88.

Yes, Steve, 7-18-69, the day that even an Armada of Celebrity barristers of the highest Caliber and their accompanying Entourage couldn't help Tipsy Ted (aka Fat Boy) Escape from his Express Journey to the Enclave of shame, facing a Torrent of Crossfire.

It could have been worse: he could have been driving a Toyota Sprinter or Toyota Chaser.

As an Escort, it wasn't very Valiant or Galant to depart the scene, but 911 was in its infancy back then, so he was able to Dodge all Avengers, maintain the Imperial family legacy in politics, and still appear Smart.

My uncle Cy is a classic snowbird, heading south when the first signs of winter appear.

However, he has been delayed this year and hasn't left yet. I hope we can get Scion the road soon, before the bad weather hits.

Jimmy was born a Rambler man,
Trying to take a turn, doing the best he can,
A splash meant time for leavin,
I hope you'll understand,
Don't need no SUV, Jimmy's a Rambler man.

Yes, it is a wonder this thread is still a Rambler. I'm sure Lawrence Welk, had he been able to peruse this thread would have said, " It's amazing what you can Achieva with a little Bravada."

So we're all in Accord, this thread is one for an ERA. It's really gone super Nova hasn't it. Let's hope it doesn't end Caprice-iously.

Default I see no end....

We still have the "concept" cars...

This may have been the inspiration for our Jimmy driver.

And..

Looks to me that this whole deal could have been "Hatched Back" at the FF at Cate Park. See a resemblance? And a co-conspirator in the background? Hummmmm..

and we still have the "Hybrids"

Lightbulb Not the Twilight zone - it's the Groan zone!

How many MPG (Messages Per Gag)? Humm Err..., gee, oh,... that should be GPM, Gags Per Message. Don’t Balk at that Ernie, just Come On Down. Bring your friends, Lauren, Dee and Ann - they are hot and will get the Mercury rising. I like those pretty pick-ups.

Plenty of seating on fine Corinthian leather. Before we get going do you want to snack on some Rolls Roy(sss) before you Sit Roy an’ (Citroën) listen to this story

Every year we have a gathering like a Fiesta, at my friend Ed’s house in one of the boroughs of NY. His mom always makes fiery chili with plenty of Pinto beans. Someone who should know better asked who made the chili. The reply, of course, was, “ it’s Ma’s Duhhh” (Mazda). We sit on the front Porsche and Ed, the Rambler, goes on and on with stories. But wait, there’s more! Don’t groan yet, there‘s a real stretch just ahead...

He RECALLED the yearly MIT college prank - clandestinely putting something seemingly impossible and unusual up high on the roof of a college building. One year a big car, another time it was their scientific experimental submarine. The local paper headline that year read, “MIT sub is hi(gh)” (Mitsubishi). It’s enough to make you gNASH your teeth trying to figure out how they did that.

Ed worries about his job as a car salesman in this economy.
The mortgage wRANGLER at the bank wants to change terms of his CONVERTIBLE mortgage and Ed has zoning issues with the borough. The zoning dispute will be resolved even if he has to go to court and Sue Borough (Subaru) officials - those hot air bags.

Ed loves that “new” smell. New boats, new quilts, new car smell and even new toy smell. Nothing like a good ToyOder (Toyota) to him. As soon as you see Ed Sell a car you know how good he is. And every Sunday watch Ed-Sell-a-Van. (Youngs won’t get the reference but the Old’s will). This mental time travel is enjoyed by friends Dee Laurie Ann and Ed. (remember them? I introduced them up in the 2nd sentence). I know, it’s a big stretch.

Before I depart, A few items to ponder:

Why couldn’t the Italian tourist drive his rent-a-car? No Key-uh.
still speaking with an Italian accent, What do some research doctors do in Italy? Look for A-cure-uh.
When my Honey’s roots are really showing should I tell her? “It’s time now, Hun Dye it again“?
I was originally going to talk about my wife’s weight and mention Hun Di(et) but didn’t want to stay in the garage tonight.
Is a Marine Corps veteran called a Cor-Vet?
Do people still talk about belly buttons being an innie or an outie (Audi)?
Anyone have proof that when it gets wrapped around a utility pole, Mercedes-Bends ?
When man of few words, Mr. T, went to hock his axe he was asked why he was at the shop. “We‘re taking pictures for an advertisement“, they said. “Are you here to model T?” “No fool“, he replied, I came “To Pawn T Axe”.
What do most kids say when school calls a snow DAY. WOO-hoo

Gotta go now, Too much egg nog. Besides, I hear the carolers (Corollas as we say in Bahston) coming up the driveway and I still have decorations I MUST HANG.

You may groan now

Things are really getting bad at Eds' dealership. The economy is really causing problems. My wife took her car to their service department. She couldn't afford the repairs, but they said they had to chargher anyway.

I hope Uncle Cy is safely on his way. Hopefully he won't need to resort to using his trusty Cutlass, the Supreme all-purpose tool, to fight through the mob getting to the airport for his trip to Monaco before the Toranado strikes, let he be become too Reliant on his ever-present Samurai powers.

I looked all over town and country for our trusty Baysider reporter today, who had covered this story. When we finally rendezvoused, I diplomatically asked, "Uno question for you.... Any insight on who left the Jimmy in Peggy's Cove?"

He adjusted his aviator glasses and ascot, "I thought this story was going to be a breeze and I've probed for more information, but I don't know who did it. Must have been a phantom or spirit. It beats me." There was an air of mystique to his voice.

I looked at him with empathy, "That's tough. I don't envoy you one bit."

===

Seriously... no name yet to the case. So the thread lives on....
