Default Deja Vu in Laconia

It's not in Gilford, but ever since they went no-smoking (as did all of NH - ) I've been a regular at the Deja Vu, which is next to the Tire Warehouse on Court Street in Laconia. Great homefries, and everything else is pretty good too. Plus: Double doors in entryway helps keep the cold out, which is pretty important these days!

Cafe Deja vu‎

Try Owl's Nest on Rt11. Been there a number of times, good food and plenty of it. Its near Ames Farm, closer to Alton. There's other threads that
mention th erestaurant

Is the Owl's nest open during the winter? Also, could you get there by snowmobile?

Owl's Nest doesn't appear to be open. I called and the phone is disconnected.

Does Patricks do a Sunday Brunch or anything? I looked on line and didn't see anything but I rememeber getting a good breakfast in the restaurant across the street in B.Maes parking lot a few years back. I can't remember the name.

FYI if you find yourself on the opposite side, Buckey's will start serving breakfast mid March. I am looking forward to that.

Default Owl's Nest - open?

Heading up to the Lake and was wondering if Owl's Nest is now open or when they'll open. Have they gone out of business. Also didn't noticed on Bizer's latest map of places to go by boat. There was a lot of talk about the restaurant last year.

Default Owl's Nest is now open

Owl's nest opened last week I think, both the store and the (breakfast only?) restaurant in back.

Default Breakfast at Waldo Peppers....

Soon....I'm sure the hottest spot of the Gilford restaurant scene will be the NEW Waldo Peppers Restaurant. It won't be long now...just weeks away. Grab a bowl of cereal and some OJ in the meantime...don't go without breakfast while waiting....

Default Owl's Nest

Owl's Nest has a dock. Directly across from Diamond Island. It is not very large. Someone kept a 'toon on one side last year.

Default Owl's Nest

The dock has a large "yellow" sign. It has a slightly different name on it. Dock has spots for two and has tires for bumpers. Walk up path to restaurant.
Was over there Saturday afternoon after putting boat in water. They have a new chef and they have a buffet on Saturday's & Sunday's. Starting this week they will be open all week.

Default Sunshine & Pa's ?

We have eaten at a place that I think is called Sunshine & Pa's a couple of times and they've got a great breakfast. I know you said in Gilford, but S & P's is right in downtown Meredith, not a far ride from Gilford for a good breakfast (a great place to go by boat). You probably have to go early though, i've seen the line out the door on more than one occasion (a sure sign of good food).

I really miss a place I used to go in Alton when I was a kid. The place was called "Mel and Sallies". It was right next to the old Alton pavillion and man they had the best home made toast, and some really cute waitresses.

We love Ames Farm breakfast. We haven't been yet this year, but it is a great spot. (Be sure to check out all the old photos and pictures on the walls)

That place was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The building is still there, looks just the same, it's just a different restaurant now. Mel's was so good, I actually drove 1 1/4 hours sometimes to eat there!

Went over too Ames for the first time last week, was looking around but couldnt find a place to dock. I saw the docks to the left and right of the 2 ramps but they all had names on them. Are there docks just for the restaurant? and were is the restaurant? is it across the street?

Does anyone remember Mel & Sally's fish chowder? It was the best I have ever had to this day. However, they would not give up the recipe unless you were willing to buy the place.

There used to be cleats on the main dock...not sure if that's true any more. It's not the most convenient place to dock, but has been done in the past. The restaurant is in the main house on the lake side of the street. Just walk up the driveway, go up the stairs onto the porch and it's the door on your right.

Default kitchen cravings is gilfords newest secret!!!!

Finally Kitchen cravings is open at the laconia airport
( in the old bank building).
wow, there was a long waiting line but it moved quickly,
Bill and sally (husband and wife) are long time restaurant and hospitality people and they are doing it up right!!!!
It is open for breakfast and lunch- terrific menu. I liked the waitstaff- not stuffy- and if you had any questions Sally was table hopping helping everyone. I was in and out very fast. The decor is something to realy take time to look at;photos of historic things of gilford. It is a winner!!!!!
best of luck to 2 hard working people!!!!!!!

Default Family Tree: New breakfast/lunch restaurant

The Family Tree Restaurant (and Ice Cream Parlor, according to their sign) is a new place located about a half mile west of the mosquito bridge (across Lake Winnisquam). It's in the building most recently occupied by two different bar/restaurants (Zacks then Friends Tavern, if I remember correctly). On the recommendation of a family member, I've been there twice already and the food is quite good. During my last visit, a friend I ran into said the people from Paulie's Diner in Tilton are running the place. So far I've had one of their Benedicts and one of their scramble specials, both of which were very good. They also offer home fries topped with sauteed peppers, onions, etc. plus cheese (which my wife loved) and homemade donuts, at least on the weekend. Have not tried them for lunch, but maybe soon.

Seems like the lakes region is having a breakfast restaurant revival lately, with this place joining Kitchen Cravings and Waldo Peppers as our other new breakfast options.

Default Kitchen Cravings by the airport

Wifey & I had breakfast at Kitchen Cravings Wed. AM. The place has a nice homey feeling to it, with lots of Winnipesaukee and flying memorabilia on the walls (check out the picture hooks). Prices are in line with other restaurants with the exception of coffee - 75 cents (a deal!) Breakfast fare is good with great spicy sausage links and english muffins made in coffee cans. We will be returning...
