Default Winnipesaukee Sunset

Late afternoon rain gave way to a beautiful sunset this evening.

Thumbs up

It was several sunsets. Every minute, the hues changed from oranges and reds -- salmon to magenta to lavender. Even the mountains showed multiple shades of their "purple majesties".

It was right up there with those great 1997 Winnipesaukee sunsets. I couldn't leave the dock to get my camera!

Did anyone else see the rainbow? Truly something special, just like the sunset. Nice shot Don!

Default The Rainbow

Yup! I did. I was out taking sunset pictures in the middle of the lake, when we turned around to see the rainbow. Quite nice. The whole evening was full of varied colors and scenes. A nice treat after a hard day's work hauling beds and mattresses to the dump and an afternoon of rain.

Default Wow!

It's amazing how red EVERYTHING is. I'm itching to get back up north. Oh well, less than a week!

Again, absolutely fabulous.

Default Beautiful on Rt.28

I saw the sunset with friends as we drove home to Wolfeboro from Alton Bay. No one had a camera so I'm glad you took this pic.

Default Thank you

These are great photos. I took one last night that I really like of Melvin Bay and this sunset. I have been lurking on this site for a year and finally decided to register and post. I have been wanting to let so many of you know how much I delight in looking at the beautiful photos you post. They help me get through the winter.

kunamola,

I, and I'm sure the other folks who post photos here on the Forum and/or in the PhotoPost section, appreciate your kind comments about our pictures. We enjoy providing little glimpses of the lake for those who can't be here as often as they'd like.

Awesome photo again, Don. Our family was headed for a night out but I sat at the beach watching the sunset, it was really pretty to watch it changing colors as the clouds moved. I was watching it over the water and the Sandwhich range but was kicking myself for not bringing my camera. Only time of the day I didn't have it with me. So thanks for the photo.

We saw the sunset while enjoying subs at Waldo Pepper's with friends, but I didn't have a camera with me. The sky was very pretty.

I got out late today and was at Waldo Peppers to get some lobster rolls to go.
The sky was brightening during my trip, and I told Island Girl about it on her photo, when I returned home today. I was thinking of you two, I also did not have my camera with, but I was hoping that one or both of you would catch a photo for us out here, and as it turns out, she did!
I say, "A wonderful world!"
Thanks, Don

Talking photo

I, too have enjoyed these photos. And because of all the wonderful conversations that have gone on, and interesting topics, I decided to jump in an post. Can't get enough of this lake, even after going there since '86!
