I saw these jet kayaks at the Sundance Spa Store and thought they looked like so much fun. What do people think? Anyone have one, tried one, seen them in use?

It looks like these Power Kayaks have list prices of $3700-4200, so I think I'll wait till I stumble across one for twenty bucks or so, at a second hand store.
Having a motor means insurance, registration. & gasoline. For like $200, you can find a very decent used kayak with a paddle and avoid all those expenses and get something missing from all motorboats called exercise. ![]()

I notice none of the examples have the required bow numbers. And none of them have flags.
It should be fun at the counter when you tell them you want to register your 10 HP kayak. |

I know and I almost thought twice before I posted but they look like so much fun and I'm considering surprising my husband with one for Father's Day. Who am I kidding, we won't be able to get the kids off it!!

I think that she may have met her match with one of these.
Wild idea! I saw one at a boat show thiis winter, I think in Boston, but I am not definate on the location. With a speed limit and the high cost of gas, I just might look into buying a couple of these. R2B |

Those look great! But now I can't recall the rules around operator age, registration and safe boating certificate requirements for such a small and low HP vessel. They'd be under 12 feet, and are under 25 HP. Would an operator need a certificate and do they require registration???

Could it be that they are traveling faster than your ability to see the flags ![]() |

What happens if you have 2 or 3 motors of 25 hp. Do you still get away without age limits or a certificate? |
